Bill grew up in Destin, not more than 1-2 miles from where his office is located today.  He graduated from Florida State University in 1996, where he doubled majored in both Finance and Real Estate.  While at FSU he decided to become an attorney and earned his law degree from Cumberland School of Law in 2000.  After law school, he then went on to receive a Master of Laws in Taxation (LL.M.) from the University of Denver in 2001. 

Bill began his legal career as an associate attorney in the fall of 2001 in Shalimar, Florida.  While an associate, he served clients mainly in the areas of tax, corporate and real estate matters.  Then in 2003, Bill was one of the founding shareholders of the law firm Fleet, Spencer & Kilpatrick, P.A. where he practiced several different areas of law including estate planning, probate, real estate, condominium/HOA law, business/corporate law, civil litigation, bankruptcy and mortgage foreclosure.  After 11 years as a shareholder, he then decided to follow a calling and dedicate his practice entirely to serving individuals and families in the areas of wills, trusts, probates and estates. 

In 2014, he left his long-time firm and formed The Will Lawyer, P.A., which focuses exclusively on serving clients in the areas of wills, trusts, probates and estates.  Bill strives to give every client the peace of mind in knowing that they have a personal estate plan in place and that he and his team will be there for their family to guide them through the process if and when that is needed.    

When Bill is not serving clients, you can often catch him singing and playing guitar in the band “Side Project” in and around the Destin and Fort Walton Beach area. 

However, more than anything else, Bill's greatest assets and where he enjoys spending the most time is with his wife, Christina Kilpatrick, and their two young children (Emilyn and Wyatt) that they are raising in Destin, right where he grew up.
